Human Consumption

We are often asked about whether or not Marbled Crayfish are fit for human consumption. Here is our take on it:

First, this species is much smaller than the “mudbugs” associated with Louisiana food.

Next, we have read rumors that the government of China has Marbled Crayfish in mass production for human consumption. However, it is very hard to verify anything going on in China.

Last, the US Food and Drug Administration has no stamp of approval on them, because it is a new species and all things government are very, very, very slow.
